COURSE OVERVIEW

Optometry is an independent profession in eye care. its practice includes a complete examination of the visual system for the estimation of refractive errors. it also covers the manufacturing, supply and fitting of spectacles, contact lenses and other optical aids.

The day-to-day activities of an optometrist comprise case Histories, Refraction, Testing the front and back of the Eye, Colour Vision, Eye Pressure etc.

* Optician: Helps patients select and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses

* Ophthalmologist: Usually works in eye hospitals or eye care centers and can work as a optometrist

* Optometric assistant: Can work their way up to the role of an optician
